NOW TV had placed Gülbin Tosun on mandatory leave after she reacted to the statement made by Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) Mayor Mansur Yavaş regarding stray animals.

Tosun had provided the following information regarding the decision made by the channel's management about her:

“Thank you so, so much for your messages of support. You are very valuable. I am glad you exist, dear friends. I have been placed on mandatory leave. My termination has not been issued yet. Just for your information. #NoStepBack for animal rights”

PARTING WAYS WITH GÜLBİN TOSUN

As NOW TV parts ways with Gülbin Tosun, the name who will replace her has been announced.

According to a report by Medyaradar, Ozan Gündoğdu has been appointed to replace Tosun.

Ozan Gündoğdu, who has served as a political and economic commentator for NOW News for approximately two years, will continue his career as the Weekend anchor. It is being discussed in media circles that a very surprising name will take Gündoğdu's place.

WHO IS OZAN GÜNDOĞDU?

Ozan Gündoğdu was born in İzmir in 1989. He completed his high school education at İzmir Atatürk High School and his higher education in the Department of Finance at Ankara University's Faculty of Political Sciences. Following the Van earthquake, he went to the region and worked as a volunteer summer school teacher.

Ozan Gündoğdu appeared as a commentator on the program ‘Kayda Geçsin’ broadcast on Halk TV. For a period, he participated as a commentator alongside Murat Ağırel and Timur Soykan in the program hosted by Özlem Gürses. Later, he evaluated the Turkish and global economy in the ‘Neden-Sonuç’ program together with Seda Selek and Mehmet Tezkan.

For the last two years, in addition to his role as a political and economic commentator for NOW News, Ozan Gündoğdu has been a permanent weekly guest on the program ‘Merve Yıldırım’la Benden Söylemesi’, and he will now continue his career as the NOW News Weekend anchor.
