While the Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting for the candidate selection process in the CHP was ongoing, party spokesperson Deniz Yücel made statements during a break in the meeting regarding the resignation of Ataşehir Mayor Battal İlgezdi from the party.

Responding to a question regarding İlgezdi's resignation, Yücel announced that they had not received any such information, noting that this could be confirmed by İlgezdi, who allegedly resigned.

"PROXIMITY OR DISTANCE IS NOT A CRITERION"

Speaking about the allegations that those who supported Kılıçdaroğlu were not being nominated during the CHP's candidate selection process, Yücel stated that proximity or distance to any individual could never be a criterion when determining candidates.

In the continuation of his statement, Yücel said, "It is never a question of proximity or distance to a person like Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who served as the CHP Chairman for a long time, achieved great successes during this period, and handed over the duty to our Chairman Mr. Özgür Özel through a democratic convention in a way that has no precedent in Turkish political history, being a criterion."
