İLGEZDİ MADE AN OFFICIAL STATEMENT ON HIS SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNT
Following the news of his resignation, İlgezdi made a statement on his social media account and said the following:
"Those who supported Chairman Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu at the last Republican People's Party convention are being purged from our party one by one.
As a 40-year party member who has served at every level of the CHP day and night, these events have saddened both me and millions of our party members.
My heart does not consent to the values of our party being spent so recklessly.
For this reason, I am resigning from the party that I have been honored to be a member of for 40 years."
