'Collateral' obtained from public bank turns out to be fake: He entered Parliament and escaped punishment
It has emerged that MHP's Levent Uysal produced a fake 500,000 euro collateral document in the name of VakıfBank. However, Uysal, who should have been prosecuted, was elected as a member of parliament from Mersin.

MHP Mersin MP Levent Uysal wanted to take out a 45 million euro loan from a Swiss financial institution called IntaCapital on June 17, 2022, through the Maslak GY Gayrimenkul Yatırım Anonim Şirketi, and signed a contract.
According to the report by İsmail Arı from BirGün; the financial institution requested a letter of guarantee with a 500,000 euro deposit.
Uysal, who deposited the money, also delivered the letter of guarantee, which he claimed to have obtained from the public bank VakıfBank, to the financial institution. However, IntaCapital contacted VakıfBank to verify the authenticity of the letter of guarantee.
BANK DECLARED DOCUMENT FAKE
On July 29, 2022, VakıfBank stated that the letter of guarantee in question was fake. In the notification VakıfBank sent to IntaCapital, it stated, "The document with the VakıfBank letterhead is fake and is not valid. Furthermore, no such letter of guarantee exists. From this point on, it will be a legal process, and our colleagues from the relevant departments will initiate proceedings at the level of the Istanbul Prosecutor's Office."
In another notification made on March 29, 2023, the bank again emphasized that the document was fake, stating, "The document in question was not issued by our bank's personnel." A very short time after this scandal, which Uysal signed off on, he entered Parliament as an MHP Mersin MP following the elections on May 14, 2023. It is unknown at what stage the legal process that VakıfBank said it was "initiating" currently stands.
