Delayed statement from MHP following the scandal
Following the Super Cup crisis in Saudi Arabia, reactions from politicians have been pouring in. While the AKP's reaction came from party spokesperson Ömer Çelik, the MHP side saw a response from Ahmet Yiğit Yıldırım, Chairman of the Idealist Hearths (Ülkü Ocakları) Education and Culture Foundation.

Messages of support are pouring in for Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray, who refused to play the match after responding appropriately to the disrespect shown toward Atatürk. While political party leaders have been issuing statements of reaction, the AKP's statement was made by party spokesperson Ömer Çelik.
The MHP, however, did not react to the disrespect for a long time, and the post on the subject came from Ahmet Yiğit Yıldırım, Chairman of the Idealist Hearths (Ülkü Ocakları) Education and Culture Foundation.
While no posts were made from the accounts of Devlet Bahçeli or the MHP, Yıldırım wrote the following:
"I congratulate Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray for not taking the field in the GSvFB Super Cup match in Saudi Arabia, by upholding our national values and the founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
Both of our distinguished clubs have once again demonstrated the spirit of national unity and solidarity of the Turkish nation...
How happy is the one who says I am a Turk!"
