Eren Erdem makes controversial claim about İmamoğlu: 'A first in CHP history'
Eren Erdem made striking statements regarding the detail about İmamoğlu mentioned by CHP member Battal İlgezdi during his resignation announcement. Erdem accused Ekrem İmamoğlu of acting against the party charter.

CHP's Ataşehir Mayor Battal İlgezdi announced his resignation from his party with a scathing statement after it became clear he would not be nominated in the local elections in March.
In a press statement at the municipal building, İlgezdi said, "Explaining that he met with CHP Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayoral candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu this morning, İlgezdi stated that regarding the reason for not being nominated, İmamoğlu told him that he performed poorly in the polls."
IMAMOĞLU CLAIM FROM EREN ERDEM
While İlgezdi's statement remains fresh, striking claims about IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu have now come from former CHP member Eren Erdem.
Erdem claimed that CHP's Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate İmamoğlu acted against the party charter by calling mayors who were to be removed from office on the phone and informing them that they would not be candidates again.

The incident is this;
The Honorable Chairman said at the convention, “We will determine the candidates through primary elections.” Well, that didn't happen.
So how were the candidates to be determined?

According to the information I obtained; our IMM President called some of our district mayors; he said, “we will not work with you, we will work with so-and-so.”
However, regarding these districts that were called; there is no decision yet from the Central Executive Board (MYK) or the Party Assembly.
Furthermore, the person calling is a “mayor.”
In other words, the board that appoints him is the “Party Assembly.”
Regarding the district that was called;
- There is no decision from the MYK or the Party Assembly.
- The person calling is a “MAYOR” who is “equal, in the same status” as the person being called…
These are things never seen in the 100-year history of the CHP.
The Chairman and the Headquarters are not making the decision; a mayor is deciding who will be “metropolitan, provincial, and district mayors…”
Has the party's Chairmanship, Headquarters management, or Party Assembly membership ever been humiliated like this before? I don't remember…
