Türkgün Newspaper Chief Columnist and MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's Advisor Yıldıray Çiçek stated that it is wrong to interpret the Turkish soldiers' slogan "We are the soldiers of Mustafa Kemal" in a way that causes coup paranoia. Çiçek noted that these slogans represent love and loyalty to Atatürk and that it is inappropriate to evaluate such slogans as the footsteps of a coup.

'DEGENERATE ONES WHO HAVE A FIT AGAINST ATATÜRK'

Yıldıray Çiçek said that those who betray the homeland by using Atatürk's name and the 'degenerate ones who have a fit against Atatürk' are trying to polarize society. He emphasized that the atmosphere these individuals are trying to create fuels the search for chaos and polarization in Turkey. Stating that the slogans of "We are the soldiers of Mustafa Kemal" express loyalty to Atatürk and his legacy, Çiçek stated that these slogans should not be used for coup paranoia.

In his column, Yıldıray Çiçek also stated that until 2008, Atatürk and his comrades-in-arms were commemorated with mercy and gratitude in Friday sermons during national holidays, but that this practice was later interrupted. He stated that it is the government's responsibility to end these debates.

MHP Chairman Bahçeli's Press Advisor Yıldıray Çiçek emphasized that the Presidency of Religious Affairs should not harbor individuals who are hostile to or disrespectful toward Atatürk, stating, "Mustafa Kemal Atatürk is a commander and statesman who always deserves to be remembered with mercy and gratitude."
