HDP İzmir Provincial Co-Chairs arrested

HDP İzmir Co-Chairs Berna Çelik and Çınar Altan, who were detained in İzmir on October 6, have been arrested.

Halkların Demokratik Partisi (HDP) İzmir Provincial Co-Chairs Berna Çelik, Çınar Altan and HDP Buca District Co-Chair Nihat Türk, who were detained in a police raid on the morning of October 6 in İzmir, were referred to the courthouse this morning after giving their statements at the police station. 

During their police statements, the co-chairs were questioned about the press statements and events they attended, with accusations of "membership in a terrorist organization" directed at them. Following their police statements, the co-chairs were first taken to the hospital and were then held at the courthouse during both their health check and until their prosecutor's statement. The co-chairs, who were brought to the İzmir Courthouse in Bayraklı, were referred to the court with a request for arrest following their statements to the prosecutor there. HDP İzmir Provincial Co-Chairs Berna Çelik and Çınar Altan, who appeared before the İzmir Criminal Court of Peace, were arrested.

BUCA DISTRICT CO-CHAIR ARRESTED

HDP Buca District Co-Chair Nihat Türk was also arrested following his statement at the Criminal Court of Peace to which he was referred.
