Kutlu Party members held an opening ceremony today at the party's headquarters located in the Öveçler neighborhood of Ankara's Çankaya district.
Speaking at the ceremony, Kutlu Party Chairman Yusuf Halaçoğlu explained his party's principles and goals, delivering significant messages.
Halaçoğlu emphasized that the Kutlu Party set out with the goal of "coming to power" and continued as follows:
“We did not set out with a 7 percent electoral threshold target. The Kutlu Party will be a party that keeps its word, stands tall on every issue, and defends the truth. We will never be with those who use religion as a tool for politics. We will act solely with patriotism, just like Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Our projects are ready on every subject from education to law, from the economy to foreign policy. We will come to power on our own.”
'PARLIAMENTARY TERMS WILL BE LIMITED TO TWO'
Stating that they would make radical changes to the education and legal systems, Halaçoğlu presented proposals regarding the parliamentary and presidential systems.
Noting that they aim for a bicameral parliamentary system, Halaçoğlu emphasized that members of parliament would serve for a maximum of two terms, and the president could be elected only once.
'WE WILL BAN SWITCHING TO ANOTHER PARTY'
Yusuf Halaçoğlu criticized the culture of political transfers and harshly condemned members of parliament who switch to other parties.
Stating that they are against such a practice as the Kutlu Party, Halaçoğlu said, “We will ban switching to another party. A member of parliament will either remain independent or resign.” He also announced that they would not accept deputies from any other party and would not form alliances with other parties.
'WE WILL ENTER THE ELECTION ON OUR OWN'
Stating that the Kutlu Party will not form an alliance with other parties, Halaçoğlu used the expressions, “In this system, if you are righteous, honest, and have touched the people, you will come to power. We will enter the election on our own and we will come to power on our own.”
Yusuf Halaçoğlu had previously announced that he had left the IYI Party and had filed an application for the establishment of the "Kutlu Party" on June 13, 2024.
