Former Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu held a phone conversation with Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu to convey his support regarding the political ban case.
Kılıçdaroğlu stated that the lawsuit filed against İmamoğlu is not in line with Turkey's democracy and emphasized that he would stand by him throughout this process.
In a statement issued by the Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu Communication Office, the message Kılıçdaroğlu conveyed to İmamoğlu during the call was as follows:
"Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu called Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu to convey his support regarding the political ban case. Kılıçdaroğlu stated that he is against political bans that do not befit democracy and Turkey, and conveyed that he would stand by İmamoğlu against this potential irrational ban and would wage the necessary struggle until the end."
