MHP leader Bahçeli: 'Israel needs to come to its senses and should not rely on its American uncles.'

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli attended the 19th Term Education and Training Year Opening Ceremony of the Politics and Leadership School at the party's headquarters.

In his statement to the press, Bahçeli expressed his sadness over the activities between Gaza and Israel, stating, "Currently, Gaza is being subjected to inhumane treatment. There is no water, no electricity. It has been deprived of all kinds of resources. When we compare this course of events with the past, a new spirit of a Crusade that has been ongoing for 927 years is emerging. This is a noteworthy issue. A large part of the world's countries are encouraging and provoking Israel, lobbies are becoming active, the press is supporting them, and on the other hand, many oppressed people are groaning in pain," he said.

Bahçeli included the following main points in his speech:

• Israel needs to come to its senses. It should not rely on its American uncles. It needs to find a way to overcome these difficulties by uniting around Turkey. The problem is neither in Turkey nor in the world. It is between America and Israel. If the problem is to be solved, they will solve it.

THREE PLANELOADS OF AID HAVE ARRIVED

• In the meantime, the success of delivering three planeloads of humanitarian aid to Gaza via Egypt has been achieved. Thus, a self-sacrificing effort has been made to ensure that a community driven toward extinction can stand on its feet again. As the MHP, I would like to declare that we support the multi-faceted diplomatic activities of our President and his colleagues at every stage, making every kind of sacrifice, without question.
• It is necessary to ensure that a Palestinian state is established with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the year 1967, and that the society there attains a two-state structure. This is Turkey's perspective, this is its determination. First, let us stop the ceasefire, prevent the destruction; even the burial of our children there cannot be performed. The bread shortage and electricity shortage there are spiraling out of control. Those who talk about a problem every day in Turkey remain silent on these issues. One must act by knowing this reality.
