Müsavat Dervişoğlu: Erdoğan cannot be a candidate

İYİ Party leader Müsavat Dervişoğlu met with newspaper and television representatives in Ankara to evaluate the current agenda.

As reported by Cumhuriyet, Dervişoğlu stated in response to a question from journalists that Erdoğan cannot be a candidate again in accordance with Article 101 of the Constitution.

IT IS CIRCUMVENTING THE CONSTITUTION

Dervişoğlu said, "Bringing up Erdoğan's candidacy in the context of an early election is circumventing the Constitution. Article 101 of the Constitution is clear."

Expressing that they would not support a constitutional proposal aimed at consolidating the one-man system, Dervişoğlu responded to the question, "How do you evaluate the discussions regarding a political ban for İmamoğlu?" by saying, "I do not want to talk about an ongoing case. I do not want to do what I criticize. It would cast suspicion on the judiciary."
