Özel cast his vote for the election of Party Assembly (PM) and High Disciplinary Board (YDK) members at his party's 38th Ordinary Congress held at the Ankara Sports Hall.

Speaking to journalists afterward, Özel stated that a festival of democracy that will set an example for all of Turkey is taking place within the CHP.

Wishing for this intra-party democracy to serve as an example for all of Turkey, Özel said, "In the coming period, we will continue to both increase intra-party democracy and set an example for Turkey. We thank everyone who contributed to this festival of democracy. It is a good thing that the CHP exists, it is a good thing that the Republic exists, and it is a good thing that democracy exists."

"HE SHOULD CONTINUE TO WORRY ABOUT THE REPUBLICAN PEOPLE'S PARTY"

In response to the question, "Have you had a meeting with Mr. Kemal?", Özel replied, "We spoke on the phone; in the coming days, after receiving the certificate of election, we will hold a handover ceremony together, in front of all of Turkey, in a manner befitting our party."

When asked, "Do you have any assessment regarding President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's statements about you?", Özel said, "Erdoğan knows that every day that passes from now on will be more difficult for him and more morale-boosting for us. I understand Erdoğan's stress and the nightmare he is going through. He should continue to worry about the Republican People's Party."
