Resignation in IYI Party: 'I have been experiencing deep disagreements since the election'

IYI Party Eskisehir MP Nebi Hatipoğlu announced his resignation from his party in a statement published on his social media account.

Nebi Hatipoğlu, who was elected as an Eskisehir MP from the IYI Party list in the May 14 General Elections, announced in a post today that he has resigned from his party.

'THE CONSULTATION PROCESS DID NOT PROCEED HEALTHILY'

In his statement, MP Hatipoglu noted the following regarding the reason for his resignation:

'To the attention of the Great Turkish Nation; in my political journey, which I embarked upon as a person who loves Turkey and Eskisehir, I have been experiencing deep disagreements with the IYI Party, from which I was elected as an Eskisehir MP, since the General Election process. Due to the fact that our intra-party consultation process did not proceed healthily, I am resigning from the IYI Party, having also informed our Chairperson, Ms. Meral Aksener.'

HE HAD DEMANDED A RIGHT-WING ALLIANCE

IYI Party Eskisehir MP Nebi Hatipoğlu, who had previously stated that the AKP and MHP could be supported in the local elections, had made the following remarks in a statement he made in recent months:

'We experienced serious problems in Eskisehir and other provinces with the friends from the CHP with whom we formed an alliance during the election period. For example, in Eskisehir, campaigns were conducted saying, "The IYI Party cannot win a seat, do not waste your vote, come and vote for the CHP." I am definitely not in favor of forming an alliance with the CHP in Eskisehir. But of course, we could form an alliance with a right-wing party based on certain principles. It could be the AK Party, MHP, or Saadet Party.'
