Sharp response from CHP to HÜDA PAR: 'We will not give up just because Taliban-minded bigots want us to!'

CHP Party Spokesperson, Deputy Chairman, and Izmir MP Deniz Yücel gave a sharp response to HÜDA PAR's statements regarding the removal of Article 4 of the constitution. 

In a statement made on the social media platform X, Yücel emphasized that these challenges to the fundamental characteristics of the Republic of Turkey are unacceptable.

'WE WILL NOT GIVE UP ON ATATÜRK AND DEMOCRACY'

Deniz Yücel, in response to HÜDA PAR's challenges against the unchangeable articles of the constitution, used the following expressions: "We will not give up on Atatürk, democracy, the republic, or secularism just because a few Taliban-minded, reactionary bigots want us to!"

'WE WILL NOT BE INTIMIDATED BY HIZBULLAH-REMNANT FOOLS'

Yücel also reacted to HÜDA PAR Chairman Zekeriya Yapıcıoğlu's statement, "I said it as if explaining to a fool," and began his own statement by saying, "Let us explain it as if explaining to an idiot!" He defended Articles 1, 2, and 3 of the constitution, which protect the secular and democratic structure of the Republic of Turkey. Yücel said, "To give up on the articles that protect the Republic and its revolutions is to give up on the secular and democratic Republic of Turkey."

The CHP spokesperson stated that attempts are being made to tamper with Turkey's fundamental values, adding, "We will not be intimidated by a few Hizbullah-remnant fools who try to exist politically by playing with the nerves of society."

Article 4, which protects Articles 1, 2, and 3 of the Constitution that define the form and characteristics of the state, and which was also included in the 1924, 1961, and 1982 Constitutions, cannot be abolished just because reactionaries want it to be.

WHAT DID YAPICIOĞLU SAY

HÜDA PAR Chairman Zekeriya Yapıcıoğlu had requested the removal of Article 4 of the constitution in a statement he made on a television channel. Using the expressions, "We are saying let there not be Article 4 of the Constitution. Not the first 4 articles, just Article 4," Yapıcıoğlu had claimed that this article places a mortgage on the will of future generations.
