Stating that the party has not yet made a decision regarding an alliance, Suat Kılıç said, "If there are those who do not want to see a second İmamoğlu term in Istanbul, they must take responsibility just as we do.
If our counterparts in the AK Party also do not want a second İmamoğlu term, they must be prepared to make certain sacrifices for certain partnerships."
"MR. ERBAKAN WILL ANNOUNCE OUR DECISION"
Emphasizing that Chairman Fatih Erbakan will make the final decision on the alliance, Kılıç continued as follows:
"Our Chairman, Mr. Erbakan, will announce our decision regarding the March 31 local elections in the coming days. Our Chairman will announce our final decision after consulting with our authorized bodies regarding our stance on Istanbul, Ankara, and İzmir.
Any statements made until the final decision is announced by our Chairman will consist solely of personal opinions."
Kılıç stated that parties are not obliged to consult anyone when announcing their candidates, adding, "Political parties determine and announce their candidates according to their own rules and principles.
The voter is the one who will make the decision. This principle also applies to Murat Kurum. They are not in a position where they have to consult us. They determine their candidates and then ask for support from the public."
