Apple has released iOS 17.3 for supported iPhone models. In this version, the long-awaited collaborative playlists for Apple Music have officially arrived. The security-focused 'Stolen Device Protection' feature is also included in this update.

With iOS 17.3, users can now create collaborative playlists via Apple Music. This provides the ability to create new playlists with chosen individuals.

APPLE iOS 17.3 UPDATE IS NOW AVAILABLE! WHAT IS NEW

Stolen Device Protection is a feature that will be very useful if users lose their devices or if they are stolen. Under this feature, the screen lock or PIN is no longer sufficient to access the device; FaceID is required to unlock the phone. Thanks to FaceID protection, user data is prevented from falling into the hands of others. With the security provided here, the lock screen passcode becomes less critical, and it is no longer possible to view saved passwords or other information without FaceID.

Users who install the update and wish to enable this feature should go to Settings>FaceID&Passcode>StolenStolen Device Protection> Users must follow the steps to Turn On Protection.

Aside from these, here is what comes with the iOS 17.3 update:

  • AirPlay hotel support: Allows you to stream content directly to the TV in your room at select hotels.
  • AppleCare & Warranty in Settings shows your coverage for all devices signed in with your Apple ID.
  • Crash detection optimizations (all iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 models).
