Apple begins paying compensation for slowing down iPhones
As a result of a legal ordeal that began years ago, Apple has started making payments to owners of iPhones it had slowed down.
Apple had been subject to a class-action lawsuit in the US. iPhone owners won the case against Apple, which alleged that the company intentionally slowed down older models. Apple, which has begun paying the compensation, is making payments of 92.17 dollars per person.
The iPhones that were the subject of the lawsuit include the iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 7, and 7 Plus models that were running iOS 10.2.1 or iOS 11.2 before December 21, 2017.

Customers who used one of these models and filed a claim for compensation from Apple by October 2020 have started receiving their payments.
As a reminder, the allegation that Apple slowed down or aged older models through updates emerged with the iOS 10 update. The iOS 10.2.1 version, released in 2017, caused a decrease in the performance of older iPhone models.
