Following Epic Games, Google loses another lawsuit; will pay 700 million dollars
Google has agreed to pay 700 million dollars in an antitrust lawsuit filed against its Android app store, the Google Play Store, over accusations that it suppressed competition.

Court documents released by the federal court in San Francisco stated that Google has agreed to pay 630 million dollars to consumers and 70 million dollars to U.S. states.
Furthermore, over the next 5 years, Google will allow its customers to download apps to their Android devices from platforms other than the Play Store.
CHARGING HIGH COMMISSIONS
In the antitrust lawsuit filed against Google, the company was accused of imposing unlawful restrictions on customers regarding applications and charging them extra fees.
Google also charges a commission ranging from 15 percent to 30 percent on in-app purchases.
The U.S.-based video game production and development company Epic Games won its antitrust lawsuit against Google on December 11 regarding in-app payments.
