Satellite communication technology has become more widely known as companies like Huawei and Apple have brought it to their phones. This satellite communication, which is not found on every phone but only in specific models, basically allows for sending files, text, and voice messages. This feature, which is very fast and arguably should be on every phone, is said to be coming to standard phones in 2024.

According to a report by The Register, the service will be offered in 2024. Initially, users will only be able to send text messages, but the ability to transfer files and send voice messages will arrive after 2025.
On the other hand, information titled 'direct to cell' is featured in a section of the SpaceX website. The relevant section states:
“Direct to Cell works with existing LTE phones wherever you can see the sky. No changes to hardware, firmware, or special apps are required, providing seamless access to text, voice, and data,” the service description says.
Announcements regarding the service were made last year, and it was reported that a partnership had been established with T-Mobile. According to the plans, the service was supposed to arrive in 2023, but as it has recently emerged, these plans will be realized in 2024.
