We haven't seen much of what could be called revolutionary technology in the smartphone sector for many years. However, according to a forecast report published by CCS Insight, we could see phones that repair their own screens by 2028.

The published report states that screens capable of repairing scratches and dents on their own could appear to users within five years.

EXPECTED TO APPEAR IN THE COMING YEARS

We see that many current brands prefer glass for the back and front panels to make them look more stylish and thinner. Although different alloys are used, this structure results in the screen getting scratched when the phone is dropped or during intensive daily use. According to Insight, some companies are working to prevent this situation.

The company does not currently name a brand, but says that phones with 'self-healing screens' are on the way.

So how will the screens repair themselves? It is said that in case of scratches or damage, the screen will be exposed to air and react with the material used there. It will then create a new layer that will fill in the scratches.
