Duplantis breaks Olympic record: Strikes Yusuf Dikeç pose

Swedish athlete Armand Duplantis won the gold medal in pole vaulting by improving his own world record.

The men's pole vault finals were held at the Stade de France in Paris, the capital of France.

Swedish athlete Armand Duplantis broke the Olympic record of 6.03 meters held by Brazilian Thiago Braz at Rio 2016 with a jump of 6.25 meters. With the same mark, Duplantis also improved his own world record (6.24) set at the Diamond League in China, winning the gold medal.

American athlete Sam Kendricks won the silver medal with a jump of 5.95 meters, while Greek athlete Emmanouil Karalis took the bronze medal with a performance of 5.90 meters.

After breaking the Olympic record, Duplantis struck the pose associated with national shooter Yusuf Dikeç.
