Şekip Mosturoğlu announces candidacy for Fenerbahçe High Council Presidency

Şekip Mosturoğlu, in a written statement, recalled that the elective High Council meeting will be held on Saturday, April 27, and said, "I have shared my thoughts on this matter with many of our club members, following the interest shown in me by the members of Fenerbahçe Sports Club regarding my candidacy for the High Council presidency.

I have discussed my thoughts and ideas regarding the High Council and its presidency in great detail with everyone I have spoken to. Consequently, following the announcement made by our club, I am officially declaring my candidacy for the High Council presidency to you with these lines."

Wishing for an election that Fenerbahçe will win, Mosturoğlu noted the following in his statement:

"As a soldier of our club, to which I have dedicated my heart, served for many years, and for the success of whose yellow-navy colors I have known how to sacrifice everything, including my personal freedom; having made unique friends who formed the yellow-navy wall with their bodies during the great struggle we initiated against the July 3 conspiracy set up against our club, and who continue this struggle today, my primary goal will be to ensure that our High Council, composed of the wise members of Fenerbahçe Sports Club, flawlessly fulfills its functions regarding balance and consultation as determined by our statutes.

Furthermore, the High Council, as the senate of Fenerbahçe Sports Club, will be a powerful voice for Fenerbahçe Sports Club and our community, and will provide intellectual leadership to Turkish sports with the ideas it produces. I wish for an election race where ideas, not individuals, will clash, and where the winner will ultimately and absolutely be Fenerbahçe, and I present this with respect."
