Statement from Şekip Mosturoğlu regarding Fatih Terim

Şekip Mosturoğlu, the lawyer for Emre Belözoğlu—one of the victims of Seçil Erzan, who is alleged to have defrauded many people including names such as Arda Turan and Fernando Muslera with the promise of a high-interest fund—was a guest on the live broadcast of the "Nokta Atışı with İpek Özbey" program on SÖZCÜ Television.

Noting that everything being discussed is an allegation and recalling the statement made today by Denizbank, Mosturoğlu said, "No one is making a statement regarding the general situation of the case, nor do they want to."

Stating, "My client is the last person to enter this so-called fund, therefore it is impossible for him to have earned any income," Mosturoğlu said, "People here are categorized. Not everyone is in the same situation. Some have a signature on an A4 sheet of paper, some have a single signature, some have a document with a forged signature, but some have a document suitable for representing the bank."

Stating that he will file a civil lawsuit this week, Mosturoğlu explained, "The reason I waited until today is this: I was waiting for the cross-examination of the bank's assistant manager in court; would they accept the signature or not? Because if they did not accept the signature, something else would have happened. They accepted the signature on my document and said, 'I signed this'."

Stating that there are 14 incidents in this case, Mosturoğlu added, "The name Fatih Terim does not appear in these 14 incidents. If the expectation is that a verdict involving the name Fatih Terim will be reached at the end of this case, that is not the case; such a thing will not happen."
