Sakarya's new registered product: 'Abkhaz Ajika'
'Abkhaz Ajika', which belongs to Sakarya, has received geographical indication registration from the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office.

Sakarya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SATSO) stated in a written announcement that Abkhaz Ajika, which belongs to the city—a place shaped by the cultural richness and abundance of more than 70 nations established through migration and possessing a strong local heritage that houses products from every nation—has received a new geographical indication.
The full text of the written statement made by SATSO, which explained that they are making every effort to carry the city's culture from its past into the future, is as follows:
"Following Adapazarı Dartılı Keşkek, Adapazarı Islama Köftesi, Adapazarı Pumpkin Dessert, Pamukova Walnut Paste, Pamukova Melon, Sakarya Abkhaz (Abaza) Cheese, Sakarya Kazımpaşa Meatballs, Taraklı Artichoke, Taraklı Uğut Dessert, Taraklı Boxwood Spoon, Taraklı Boxwood Comb, and Üre Dessert, we have now received the geographical indication registration for Abkhaz Ajika as the 13th product. We have thus registered this cultural heritage of Sakarya as well."
Abkhaz Ajika, whose main ingredients are capia pepper and spices, is generally consumed at breakfast.
