6th hearing in the Isias Hotel case begins
The sixth hearing of the Grand Isias Hotel case, which became a tomb for 72 people in Adıyaman during the earthquakes that occurred on February 6, 2023, has begun. Gathering before the hearing, the families demanded that the defendants be tried for "probable intent."

Adıyaman was one of the provinces affected by the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes on February 6, 2023. The Grand Isias Hotel in Adıyaman was one of the locations where the destruction was most severe. The hotel became a tomb for 72 people, including Turkish Cypriot athletes and tour guides.
Relatives of those who lost their lives in the earthquake gathered in front of the Adıyaman Courthouse before the hearing.
In the 3rd High Criminal Court, where 11 people, 3 of whom are in custody, are being tried for the crime of "causing the death and injury of more than one person with conscious negligence," the detained defendants—hotel owner Ahmet Bozkurt, his son and board member Mehmet Fatih Bozkurt, and architect Erdem Yıldız—attended the hearing via the SEGBİS video conferencing system.
The hearing was attended by Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, members of parliament, relatives of those who lost their lives in the earthquake, and many others.
Before the hearing, families carrying banners reading "Justice will come with probable intent," "Public officials must be tried," and "It is not fate, it is murder," along with members of the Champion Angels Survival Association and the Justice for Guides Platform, held a press statement.
In the statement read by Ruşen Yücesoylu Karakaya, President of the Champion Angels Survival Association, the demand for a trial based on "probable intent, not conscious negligence" was expressed.
