The Bolu Mountain pass, which provides transport between Istanbul and Ankara, has been closed in the Istanbul-bound direction due to scheduled work.
As part of the work, the tunnel portal serving the Istanbul-bound direction on the 23-kilometer section of the highway's Bolu Mountain pass (including the Bolu Tunnel) between the Abant-Kaynaşlı junctions will be extended in the direction of Kaynaşlı using steel construction, and 4 expansion joints will be replaced on 2 viaducts.
For this reason, the route has been closed in the Istanbul-bound direction for 50 days until 17:00 on September 19. Traffic cones have been placed at the Abant toll booths by highway teams.
During this period, traffic in the Istanbul direction in the region will be diverted via the D-100 highway from the Abant junction.
Traffic in the Ankara-bound direction of the highway will continue as normal.
