Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu attended a situation assessment meeting held at the Home Front Command. At the meeting, Netanyahu stated that Israel is at a high level of readiness for any defensive or offensive scenario. Furthermore, he threatened to "exact a heavy price" for any attack against Israel, declaring, "Whoever harms us, we will harm them."

Netanyahu claimed that Mohammed Deif, the leader of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades—the military wing of Hamas—was killed in an attack on July 13 targeting a safe zone in the Gaza Strip where Palestinians were sheltering.

Additionally, the Israeli press reported that Netanyahu and US President Joe Biden will hold a phone call this evening.
