China's giant radio telescope has detected more than 900 pulsars
It has been reported that China's Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Telescope (FAST) has recorded more than 900 neutron stars, known as 'pulsars,' which rotate rapidly and emit high magnetism, since it began operations in 2016.

According to a report by the Chinese agency Xinhua, Han Jinlin, a researcher at the National Astronomical Observatories under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, stated that the world's largest radio telescope has made three times as many pulsar observations as other telescopes worldwide during its active period.
Han stated that the telescope, which completed installation in 2016 and began regular observations in January 2020, has recorded more than 900 pulsars to date.

Pulsars, which form in the exploding cores of dying giant stars, provide scientists with the opportunity to observe the state of physical laws under extreme conditions due to their high density and rapid rotation.
FAST, built in a deep karst depression in China's southwestern Guizhou province, became the "world's largest radio telescope" with its 500-meter diameter dish, surpassing the 300-meter diameter Arecibo Telescope built in the US overseas territory of Puerto Rico.
The giant telescope, used to detect radio waves emitted by stars, galaxies, and black holes, has been recording regular observations since January 2020.
