Court in Pakistan suspends 14-year prison sentence for Imran Khan
A court in Pakistan has suspended the convictions of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, who were each sentenced to 14 years in prison in a corruption case involving the failure to disclose details of gifts received during his premiership and the sale of those gifts.

According to reports in the national press, the Islamabad High Court evaluated the appeal filed by Khan against the conviction of himself and his wife.
The court suspended the convictions of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi, who were each sentenced to 14 years in prison in a corruption case involving the failure to disclose details of gifts received during his premiership and the sale of those gifts.
The next hearing has been postponed until after the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
Khan, who faces prison sentences in other cases, will remain in prison. His wife, Bushra Bibi, will also continue to serve her sentence under house arrest.

On January 30, a court in Pakistan sentenced former Prime Minister Khan and former Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi to 10 years in prison each, after they were accused of "leaking state secrets" and tried while in custody.
On January 31, Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi were sentenced to 14 years in prison each after being found guilty in a corruption case involving the failure to disclose details of gifts received during his premiership and the sale of those gifts.
Furthermore, on February 3, the court sentenced the imprisoned former Prime Minister Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi to 7 years in prison each on the grounds that they had entered into an illegal marriage.
It was noted that the prison sentences handed down to Khan were issued shortly before the general elections on February 8.
