Following meetings held in Berlin, Germany has decided to increase its military aid to Ukraine.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met in Berlin and took significant steps regarding this matter.

In a statement made by the German Ministry of Defense, it was announced that a new military aid package of 5 billion euros for Ukraine has been approved. This aid package aims to increase Ukraine's domestic weapons production and military equipment shipments, including long-range weapons.

In a statement made before his visit to Germany, Zelenskyy emphasized his goals of securing funding to increase Ukraine's domestic weapons production. Stating that "the biggest problem is not technology limitations, but the lack of funding," Zelenskyy noted that his country needs an annual budget of approximately 30 billion dollars to increase its military capacity.

The equipment Ukraine needs includes attack drones, interceptors, missiles, and ballistic systems. Zelenskyy continues to seek international support for the procurement of this equipment. This new aid package provided by Germany is considered an important step in strengthening Ukraine's defense capacity.
