The Hezbollah organization in Lebanon has launched an attack on Israel. Following the killing of high-ranking Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr in an Israeli airstrike, Hezbollah has attacked Israel.

The Israeli army announced that attack sirens were sounding in the north of the country and that the Iron Dome air defense systems had been activated. However, it is not yet clear whether this attack represents a new development in the clashes that have been ongoing since October 8, 2023.

Footage has been shared on social media showing the Iron Dome system intercepting some unmanned aerial vehicles and missiles.

Here is that footage:

The Israeli army killed high-ranking Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr in an airstrike it carried out on the Lebanese capital, Beirut, on the night of July 30.

Speaking today at Shukr's funeral, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah stated that Israel had killed Fuad Shukr and Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh, saying, "The Israelis are happy, but they do not know what red lines they have crossed. Laugh now, but you will cry a lot. The enemy should be expecting anger and revenge."

One day after Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip in Palestine began on October 7, 2023, Hezbollah also launched attacks against Israel in support of Palestine. Clashes have been continuing on the Israel-Lebanon border since October 8.
