It is claimed that the body of Fuad Shukr, a high-ranking Hezbollah official, has been recovered

Debris removal operations are continuing following Israel's strike on a building in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, yesterday.

Reports citing Lebanese security sources claim that the body of Fuad Shukr, a senior advisor to Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, was recovered during the operations.

Israel had stated that it targeted Fuad Shukr in yesterday's strike, while statements from Hezbollah sources had claimed that Fuad Shukr was under the rubble.

Whether Shukr had lost his life had not yet been clarified. Four people lost their lives and 83 were injured in the attack.

HEZBOLLAH CONFIRMS

Hezbollah has issued a statement regarding Fuad Shukr, a senior advisor to Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, whose fate was uncertain following Israel's strike on the Lebanese capital, Beirut, yesterday.

In a statement released by Hezbollah via social media, it was reported that Shukr lost his life in the Israeli strike.

Israel had announced that Shukr was behind the attack on Majdal Shams in the Golan Heights last Saturday.

Shukr, who was appointed as the commander of Hezbollah's precision missile project several years ago, was on the US wanted list for his role in the 1983 bombing of a US military base in Beirut.
