In the attack carried out by Israel on the Al-Mawasi tent camp in Rafah, 21 people lost their lives, and 64 people were injured, 10 of them critically.
It was noted that the area targeted by the Israeli army was a site in Al-Mawasi where Palestinians had set up tents.
THEY ENTERED THE CITY CENTER
Israeli media announced today that Israeli tanks had entered the city center of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip for the first time.
According to a report by the Israel-based news site "Ynet" citing eyewitnesses, the tanks positioned themselves near the Al-Awda Mosque and also targeted a mosque.
In footage shared on social media, smoke was seen rising from a mosque in the center of Rafah, and the sounds of unmanned aerial vehicles could be heard in the background.
Eyewitnesses, who emphasized that Israel was subjecting the western parts of the city to heavy artillery bombardment, had also provided information that Israeli army tanks were positioned in the Tel Zarab and Ard Abu Samhada areas of the city.
PALESTINIANS BURNED TO DEATH
The International Court of Justice, the judicial organ of the UN, had ruled in its interim measures decision on May 24 that Israel must immediately halt its attacks on Rafah.
Despite this decision, Israel bombed the tents of displaced Palestinians in Rafah on May 26, and it was reported that at least 45 Palestinians, including 23 women, children, and elderly people, lost their lives in the attack, and 249 Palestinians were injured.
Eyewitnesses had said, "The Israeli army's bombardment caused many tents in the camp to collapse and burn. This camp is not located in the area that the Israeli army had ordered to be evacuated in the city of Rafah, where thousands of displaced Palestinians live."
Witnesses had stated that Israeli warplanes carried out the attack on the camp with at least 8 rockets.
