Oppenheimer director Christopher Nolan: 'The most successful film I've made to date'

Focusing on the life of American physicist Julius Robert Oppenheimer, known as the head of the 1942 Manhattan Project that resulted in the invention of the atomic bomb, the film Oppenheimer has made a name for itself with 13 nominations at the Oscars to be held in Los Angeles this February.

Christopher Nolan, director of the film, which was one of the most talked-about movies of last year alongside Barbie, said, "Oppenheimer is the most successful film I've made to date. I've been making films for 20 years, and Oppenheimer has become my highest-grossing film in the UK."

'IT EARNED 1 BILLION DOLLARS'

Speaking to Empire magazine, Nolan said, "I made a three-hour film about Robert Oppenheimer. It was an R-rated film, half of which was in black and white, and it earned 1 billion dollars."

The British director continued his words as follows:

"The craziest part of it is that Oppenheimer is the most successful film I've made to date. I've been making films for 20 years, and Oppenheimer has become my highest-grossing film in the UK. So, based on my own experience, I can say that I am very pleased with where the film industry has arrived. Of course, the box office success of other films and audiences returning to theaters also played a role in this view."
