The ongoing war between Israel and Hamas had been paused for 4 days after both sides announced they would conduct a prisoner exchange.
The parties initially fulfilled their obligations and released the prisoners.
However, in the second phase, Hamas announced that it would not release the prisoners, citing Israel's failure to keep its word.
The tension has been resolved following a statement made by Qatar.
The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the architect of the exchange decision, announced that the process has resumed, stating, "The obstacles to the implementation of the agreement have been removed. Tonight, 13 Israeli prisoners will be released in exchange for 39 Palestinian prisoners."
