Raisi and Sisi discuss 'Gaza and bilateral relations'
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi discussed the development of bilateral relations and the situation in Gaza.

During the phone call, Raisi congratulated Sisi on his re-election as President of Egypt and stated that Iran wishes to develop its relations with the friendly and Muslim nation of Egypt.
Raisi expressed that the two countries share common religious foundations, which creates a suitable ground for deepening their relations.
Emphasizing that Israel's attacks in Gaza clearly pose a serious threat to security, peace, and stability in the region, Raisi noted that Iran is ready to use all its capabilities to stop Israel and support the Palestinians in this regard.
Raisi conveyed to Sisi that Egypt, as a neighbor to Gaza, is also expected to assist the Palestinians, stating, "We expect Egypt to use all its capabilities to stop the Zionist regime's attacks on Gaza, deliver aid, and realize the rights of the Palestinian people."
Iranian President Raisi stated that it is meaningless for the US, which vetoes ceasefire resolutions at the United Nations Security Council and provides all kinds of support to Israel, including military aid, to call on other countries to exercise restraint.
STEPS FOR STABILITY AND SECURITY
Egyptian President Sisi stated that they welcome Iran's policy of strengthening relations with neighboring countries and the region, emphasizing that his country is ready to take steps to resolve issues with Tehran.
Stating that his country is making every effort to stop the attacks on Gaza, provide aid to the people of the region, and protect the rights of Palestinians, Sisi noted that he believes Iran plays an effective role in supporting the people of Gaza and ensuring stability in the region.
Sisi assessed that, "Iran and Egypt, with their high historical and civilizational status and various capacities, can play an effective role in ensuring stability and security in the region."
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi had instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in May to develop relations with Egypt, which had been maintained mostly at the level of charge d'affaires for over 40 years.
Raisi and Sisi met for the first time on the sidelines of the extraordinary meeting of the heads of state of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) regarding the situation in Gaza, held in Riyadh on November 11.
In the first face-to-face meeting between the heads of state of Iran and Egypt after an interval of approximately 11 years, Raisi had requested that Egypt open the Rafah Border Crossing for the uninterrupted delivery of aid to Gaza.
