UK-based organization announces number of children killed in Gaza
The UK-based non-governmental organization Save the Children has reported that the number of children killed in Gaza in 3 weeks has reached 3,195, exceeding the number of children killed in conflict zones worldwide since 2019.

In a statement released by the organization Save the Children, it was noted that at least 3,257 children have been killed in the Israel-Palestine conflict since October 7.
Based on data from official institutions in Israel and Gaza, the statement indicated that 29 children have been killed in Israel, while the number of children killed in the West Bank stands at 33.
The statement noted that at least 3,195 children have been killed in Gaza within the last 3 weeks, emphasizing that this figure is higher than the total number of children killed in conflicts across approximately 20 countries worldwide since 2019.
CHILDREN ACCOUNT FOR 40 PERCENT OF THOSE KILLED
The statement, which noted that children account for 40 percent of those killed in Gaza, recorded that one-third of those killed in the Israel-Palestine conflict overall are children.
Furthermore, the statement indicated that 1,000 children reported missing in Gaza may be under the rubble, underlining that the number of children killed will likely rise further as this figure becomes clearer.
Pointing to Israel's decision to expand its operations in Gaza, the statement noted that this situation would lead to more deaths and injuries.
MORE THAN 6 THOUSAND CHILDREN INJURED
The statement, which specified that 6,363 children have been injured in Gaza, with this number being 180 in the West Bank and 74 in Israel, also shared information that 200 children are being held captive in Gaza.
Pointing out that one-third of hospitals in Gaza are currently non-functional, the statement noted that the risk of death due to injuries is also very high.
The statement conveyed that due to the Israeli blockade, there is a shortage of medicine and medical supplies, and some children in Gaza have had to undergo amputations without anesthesia.
CALL FOR CEASEFIRE
Pointing out that more child deaths are inevitable with the expansion of Israeli operations, the statement issued an urgent call for a ceasefire.
Save the Children Palestine Director Jason Lee, whose assessments were included in the statement, said that the 3 weeks of ongoing conflict have torn children away from their families and turned their lives upside down.
Stating that the risk to children's survival increases as the conflict intensifies, Lee said, "A ceasefire is the only way to ensure their safety. The international community must put human lives before politics. Every day spent in debate results in children being killed and injured. Children must be protected, especially when they are seeking safety in schools and hospitals."
