Egypt discusses Israel's attacks on Gaza with the UN
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi discussed the attacks in the Gaza Strip with United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
A written statement regarding the matter was issued by the Egyptian Presidency.
DIPLOMATIC EFFORTS ARE UNDERWAY
It was stated that in the phone call between Sisi and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, the diplomatic efforts being carried out to stop Israel's attacks on Gaza and to ensure a humanitarian ceasefire were discussed.
It was also noted that the cooperation efforts between Egypt and the UN regarding the protection of civilians and the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza were discussed during the meeting.
LATEST SITUATION IN GAZA
Due to Israel's intense attacks on the blockaded Gaza Strip, landline, mobile phone, and internet communication services in the region have been completely cut off.
The Israeli army announced that it is increasing its airstrikes and will expand its ground operations.
