The Meteorology department has warned that starting Thursday, temperatures across the country will drop by 6 to 12 degrees, falling below seasonal norms. Snowfall is expected in higher elevations.

General Directorate of Meteorology warns: Temperatures to drop below seasonal norms

According to the statement made by the General Directorate of Meteorology, air temperatures are expected to drop significantly starting from the northern and western regions beginning Thursday. 

Temperatures will decrease by 6 to 12 degrees, falling below seasonal norms.

COLD WEATHER AND WIND WILL TAKE EFFECT

The impact of the cold wave, combined with strong northerly winds, will continue until the beginning of the week. Precipitation is expected in the northern, inner, and eastern regions.

SNOWFALL COMING TO HIGHER ELEVATIONS

With the drop in temperatures, the first snowfall of the season is expected in the higher elevations and plateaus of the Black Sea region and the high-altitude areas in the northeast of Eastern Anatolia. Residents living in high-altitude regions are advised to take precautions.
