New details emerge regarding individuals arrested for alleged Mossad espionage

The referral document stated that the suspects transferred information, particularly regarding Palestinian citizens and individuals with links to Hamas, to Israeli Intelligence.

The document noted that one suspect filmed the interior and exterior of the Süleymaniye Mosque, and recorded that payments were made to the person or persons providing the information.

Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the detection and decoding of international espionage activities, a total of 46 suspects were identified who were determined to potentially be involved in international espionage activities on behalf of the Israeli Intelligence Service, Mossad, targeting foreign nationals, primarily Palestinian and Israeli families and activists residing in Turkey.

34 suspects were detained in operations carried out recently. After completing their procedures at the police station, the detained suspects were referred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan.

Here, 26 suspects whose prosecution procedures were completed were brought before the on-duty judgeship with a request for arrest on charges of 'military and political espionage,' and 15 suspects were arrested by the on-duty judgeship and sent to prison. 11 suspects were released under judicial control conditions. It was also learned that 8 suspects would be handed over to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management for deportation procedures.

REPORTED TO HAVE CONTACTED SYRIAN NATIONALS

Details regarding the matter were reached in the Prosecutor's Office's referral document. According to the referral document, technical and human intelligence methods were used in the past to prevent the Israeli Intelligence Service's activities from reaching their goals, investigations were conducted in light of the collected evidence, and person or persons linked to the Israeli Intelligence Service contacted Palestinian and Syrian nationals in Turkey to obtain information and documents of importance to Israel, while payments were made to the person or persons providing the information through international money transfer companies, remittance offices, and live couriers in exchange for the transferred information.

DETECTIVES WERE UTILIZED

In the referral document sent to the Criminal Judgeship of Peace, it was stated that individuals linked to the Israeli Intelligence Service formed remote operation teams via internet-based mobile applications, aimed to carry out tasks such as money transfers to sources via live couriers and reconnaissance on targets in the field through these teams, and that detectives were utilized for tasks requiring professional execution, while individuals who would not arouse suspicion were primarily used for tactical tasks.

The referral document, which stated that detectives were assigned tasks such as collecting biographical information, reconnaissance, investigation, photography, video, information, document, live tracking, placing tracking devices, finding live couriers, and cyber activities, noted that detectives obtained information from the state's database by exploiting system vulnerabilities and their circles working in critical state institutions.

THEY CONTINUED THEIR ACTIVITIES DESPITE SECURITY VULNERABILITIES

The referral document recorded that the individuals the Israeli Intelligence Service employed continued their activities even after realizing the purpose of the requests made to them, the material or moral damage they would cause, and even the national security vulnerability they might create, and that they carried out their activities by not issuing invoices in exchange for the payments made to them.

It was recorded that the suspects obtained and transferred information, documents, and photographs of individuals, particularly Palestinian citizens and those with Hamas links, which were considered important and dangerous for Israel, to Israeli Intelligence on behalf of IÇOM, and in return, they obtained benefits using the remittance system, cryptocurrency, and the 'Western Union' system, which are particularly used by terrorist organizations.

THEY AIMED TO TARGET PALESTINIAN NATIONALS

The referral document, which stated that it was learned that the Israeli Intelligence Service's Online Operations Center (IÇOM) would target Palestinian nationals and their families residing in Turkey, noted that contact was established with the 46 people identified as suspects, that these individuals were contacted via job postings on social media, and that communication was maintained without making video or voice calls.

It was emphasized that with all these activities, within the framework of the current Israel-Palestine conflict evolving into a global dimension, IÇOM aimed to target Palestinian nationals and their families residing in Turkey.

SÜLEYMANİYE MOSQUE DETAIL

The referral document also included findings regarding some suspects. It was stated that one of the suspects, Amal Sallami Ep Siala, established contact with a person named Samir Ferat, that this person asked her for a video of the interior and exterior of the Süleymaniye Mosque in Turkey, and that she received 150-200 dollars in return.

THEY WERE INTERESTED IN PEOPLE BROUGHT FROM PALESTINE

It was recorded that one of the suspects, Hazem Mounir Amin Elgayyar, worked as health support personnel at the Fatih District Health Directorate, was particularly interested in the wounded and needy people brought from Palestine in the recent period, and that it was assessed that he shared this information with Israeli Intelligence, creating strong suspicion regarding espionage activities.
