CHP Provincial Chair Çelik and Küçükçekmece Mayor Çebi state the attack was not political

An armed attack was carried out on AKP's Küçükçekmece mayoral candidate Aziz Yeniay during his election campaign in the Kanarya neighborhood. It was learned that one citizen was seriously injured in the attack, which was carried out with long-barreled weapons.

CHP Provincial Chair Özgür Çelik shared the following lines:

We are relieved that there was no loss of life in the attack in Küçükçekmece, contrary to the statements coming from the authorities. I wish a speedy recovery to our citizen who was injured in the attack.

Likewise, we have reached the information that the attack was not political. We invite the individuals and institutions representing the state to inform the public accurately, and we reiterate our concern regarding the consequences of uncontrolled illegal armament.

Küçükçekmece Mayor Kemal Çebi used the following expressions:

We are closely following the agenda regarding the armed attack that took place in the Kanarya neighborhood of Küçükçekmece.

First of all, I wish a speedy recovery to our neighbor who was injured in the attack with my most sincere wishes. I would like to share with you that the incident, which occurred during Mr. Aziz Yeniay's visit to the region, does not have a political dimension.

I strongly condemn and curse such acts of violence for disrupting the peace of our society. I also do not find it right for dirty and unverified information to be served instantly by news channels.
