55 million lira in support to be provided to private theaters
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism will provide a total of 55 million lira in support to 476 theaters for the 2023-2024 art season.

The “Financial Support Evaluation Commission for Private Theaters” meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Dr. Batuhan Mumcu, with the participation of General Managers of art institutions affiliated with the Ministry and commission members.
The commission, which evaluated the applications made for the 2023-2024 art season to benefit from the aid provided to private theater projects, decided to provide support to all theaters that completed their applications in full.
DETAILS OF THE SUPPORT ANNOUNCED
In this context, a total of 55 million lira in support will be provided to 476 projects, including 77 traditional theaters, 95 children's play theaters, and 304 professional theaters.
Thus, it is aimed to increase the contribution of private theater venues to artistic life and ensure their continuity, to encourage registered employment in the field of theater, and to contribute to the development of Turkish theater by preferring works by Turkish playwrights in applications, as has been the case in recent years.
