The news of the death of film and television actress Fatma Karanfil was announced by her manager Aslı İslamoğlu on her social media account with the following words:
"We have lost our dear actress Fatma Karanfil. We have learned with deep sorrow of the passing of our very dear actress Fatma Karanfil, one of the respected names of Turkish cinema and theater. Fatma Karanfil, who took part in many successful projects throughout her artistic life and was deemed worthy of many awards, was a name taken as an example not only for her acting but also for her elegance, diligence, and humanity.
While experiencing the deep sorrow of this painful loss, we wish God's mercy upon Fatma Karanfil and offer our condolences to all her loved ones, especially her family. Her light will never fade; she will always shine in our hearts and in the art world. May you rest in peace, dear Fatma Karanfil. This is announced to the entire art community and the public."
FUNERAL DETAILS ANNOUNCED
Karanfil will be laid to rest at the Feriköy Cemetery following the funeral prayer to be held after the noon prayer at the Levent Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa Mosque on Wednesday, June 5.

WHO IS FATMA KARANFİL?
Born on February 3, 1952, in Eskişehir, Fatma Karanfil stepped into cinema after studying at the Language and Culture Center and winning third place in the Ses Magazine competition in 1968.
Karanfil, who married Ali Kocatepe in 1975 but later separated, received textile training in London between 1976 and 1980. Despite being diagnosed with breast cancer, she overcame the illness and returned to her work in 2001.
The actress came to the agenda again in 2008 with her role in the series Aşk-ı Memnu. Fatma Karanfil had played the character of Fatma in Keloğlan, one of the legendary productions of Yeşilçam.
Fatma Karanfil passed away on June 4, 2024.
