ABB discloses cost of Ebru Gündeş concert: 'The net figure includes VAT'

The Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) announced the cost of the Ebru Gündeş concert in a statement released via its social media account.

CHP-run municipalities continue to be a topic of discussion due to the concerts they organized for the 101st anniversary of the Republic. While the municipalities, which have also been criticized by AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan over their expenditures, have expressed their reactions to the process through statements, ABB Mayor Mansur Yavaş, one of the figures targeted, had announced that he would provide the necessary explanation regarding the expenditures on Monday.

COST STATEMENT FROM ABB

Following the fact that concert fees have become the primary item on the country's agenda, the ABB felt the need to make a preliminary statement and provided price information regarding the Ebru Gündeş concert on its social media account.

ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE PUBLIC!

Incorrect and misleading information is being circulated through some press outlets and social media accounts.

The claim that 69 million liras were paid to Ebru Gündeş, who performed as part of our Republic's 101st-anniversary events, and the visual circulated alongside it have no relation to reality. The net figure is not 69 million liras, but “44 million 937 thousand 117 liras including VAT.”

We would like to remind you that this figure also includes transportation, accommodation, the screen, sound system, stage setup, technical equipment requested by Ebru Gündeş, and the expenses of nearly 100 employees.

A statement in which the facts will be explained in all their details and the public will be informed will be made by Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş on MONDAY AT 15.00.
