Adnan Oktar in court: 'The British deep state set a trap for Raisi'

It had been determined that the Adnan Oktar Armed Criminal Organization had begun working again through lawyers to keep the 'organization' active and recruit new members.

Following the investigation launched upon this discovery, a lawsuit was filed against 20 people, including the organization's leader, Adnan Oktar.

The first hearing of the case was held today. Adnan Oktar and 5 defendants connected to the hearing at the Istanbul 1st High Criminal Court via the SEGBIS system.

5 defendants, 2 of whom are in custody, were also present in the courtroom.

'AN EMPTY INDICTMENT'

In the hearing, which began with the arrival of the presiding judge and the panel, Adnan Oktar was given the floor to make his defense.

When Oktar stated that he could not read the indictment due to prison restrictions, the presiding judge said, "If you wish, you can make your defense after reading the indictment."

Upon this, Oktar declared, "I do not need to read the indictment. Since it is an empty court and an empty indictment, I can make my defense before God."

Continuing his defense, Adnan Oktar claimed there was no organization, saying, "This is an act committed by the British deep state. I have written many books about the British deep state. This angered them."

'IT HAS A TREMENDOUS ALLERGY'

Oktar, who also claimed that the British deep state killed Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who recently lost his life in a helicopter crash, stated, "Iranian President Raisi said at a UN meeting that the Mahdi is alive and active. When they heard this, the British deep state set a trap for Raisi; they martyred him. The British deep state has a tremendous allergy to the Mahdi."

'THE MAHDI IS ACTIVE'

Continuing his defense, Adnan Oktar claimed there was no organization, saying, "This is an act committed by the British deep state. I have written many books about the British deep state. This angered them."

Oktar, who also claimed that the British deep state killed Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who recently lost his life in a helicopter crash, said, "Iranian President Raisi said at a UN meeting that the Mahdi is alive and active. FROM THE INDICTMENT

In the indictment prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 20 people, including Adnan Oktar, were listed as 'suspects'. The indictment stated that Adnan Oktar, the leader of the armed criminal organization, continued his organizational activities from prison, attempting to keep the organization alive, particularly through lawyers, and aimed to recruit new members to replace those who had been exposed.

The prepared indictment noted that suspect Adnan Oktar was accepted as the leader of the armed criminal organization by court decisions and, although he was in prison, he continued his organizational activities during his time there. It was recorded that he tried to keep the organization alive, particularly through his lawyers and other organization leaders Meltem Daban and Ferhunde Eda Babuna, ensured his instructions were spread outside the prison, and while doing so, engaged in activities to create public opinion and gain political lobby support regarding the claim that the trial was a setup, specifically through other organization leaders.

In this context, the indictment stated that suspect Oktar communicated with organization members who were convicted in the main case and were in prison via letters and lawyers. It was stated that the suspect tried to prevent organization members who wanted to become effective repentants, tried to maintain his influence over organization members inside and outside, and gave instructions for organization members who were outside, whether processed or not, to stay together.

Furthermore, the prepared indictment noted that during his time in prison, suspect Oktar met with approximately 200 lawyers in a short period of 15 days, conducting meetings under the guise of legal aid that were not in line with the ordinary flow. It was recorded that he aimed to recruit members to the organization in these meetings, tried to direct organizational attitudes and behaviors outside the prison by taking advantage of the legal profession, which has free entry and exit to the prison within legal limits, and as a result of this determination, restrictions were placed on lawyer visits for the suspect.

In the prepared indictment, it was requested that suspects Adnan Oktar, Meltem Daban, and Ferhunde Eda Babuna be sentenced to 5 to 12 years in prison for 'establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes', and also, in accordance with the relevant article of the Turkish Penal Code, be punished as perpetrators for all crimes committed by organization members within the framework of the organization's activities.

In this context, it was requested that the suspects be sentenced to a total of 15.5 to 43.5 years in prison, including 10.5 to 31.5 years for the crime of 'making propaganda for the organization or its purpose'.

In the indictment, it was requested that the other 17 suspects be sentenced to varying prison terms for crimes such as 'being a member of an organization established for the purpose of committing crimes', 'aiding the organization', and 'making propaganda for the organization or its purpose'.
