Adnan Oktar transferred from Erzurum to Van Başkale Prison

Criminal organization leader Adnan Oktar, who is facing a new lawsuit over allegations that he met with 200 lawyers in 15 days in a manner 'not consistent with the ordinary course of events' while in prison, has been transferred to another facility.

Adnan Oktar was transferred from Erzurum Dumlu Closed Prison, where he had been held for two years, to Van Başkale Closed Prison. The reason for the transfer was stated as 'security.'

WHAT HAPPENED?

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's Investigation Bureau for Terrorism and Organized Crime had alleged in its investigation into Adnan Oktar that "during his time in prison, he held meetings under the guise of 'legal assistance' with approximately 200 lawyers in a short period of 15 days in a manner not consistent with the ordinary course of events," and that he was "trying to keep the organization alive." The indictment prepared as a result of the investigation was accepted.
