Reactions continue following the terrorist attack on the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) facilities located in the Kahramankazan district of Ankara.

While 5 of our citizens were martyred in the attack, CHP Party Spokesperson Deniz Yücel reacted harshly to the statements made by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan regarding the incident.

"YOU HAVE TURNED THE BORDERS INTO A REVOLVING DOOR"

President Erdoğan had stated that the two terrorists who carried out the attack “entered Turkey through an infiltration operation from Syria.”

Responding to this statement, Deniz Yücel criticized the government's border policies in a post on social media. Yücel also drew attention to the government's immigration policies, stating, “Just last week, you were telling Olaf Scholz, ‘Our doors are open to Syrians, let the Lebanese come too.’ Are you continuing to open the doors?”

Yücel continued his reaction to Erdoğan's statements with the following words: “This is what happens when you turn the borders into a revolving door and fill the country with people of unknown origin as if you were inviting them to your father's field; it is the innocent people who suffer. The blood of our martyrs must not remain on the ground, and border security must be ensured.”

"WHO WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE?"

In his social media post, Yücel also mentioned the 8-year-old daughter of martyr Zahide Güçlü, using emotional language: “Our martyr Zahide Güçlü’s daughter is a child who has just overcome cancer. She is 8 years old... Why was her mother martyred? Who will be held accountable? The terrorists who walked across the border with ease? Or the government that cannot even protect the capital, let alone the borders?”
