Famous singer Serdar Ortaç, who is being tried with a potential prison sentence of up to 3 years as part of an investigation into the promotion of illegal betting, has been placed under house arrest. During this process, the singer has continued to be active on social media, making notable statements.

'IF I HADN'T BECOME FAMOUS, I WOULDN'T HAVE KNOWN ABOUT GAMBLING OR ANYTHING ELSE'

Ortaç expressed his regrets regarding the choices he made in the past with the following words:

"Look at fate, it made me Serdar Ortaç, and I have never been out of trouble. If I hadn't become famous, I wouldn't have known about gambling or anything else. If I had finished university and had a profession, I could have had a very different life."

'I WISH I HAD BEEN AN ENGLISH TEACHER'

Explaining that he had been accepted to Bilkent University but dropped out, Ortaç added:

"If I had finished university and become an English teacher, I would have had a peaceful marriage, taken care of my children, and retired. God wrote it this way; the mistakes in what happened to me are my own. But if that had happened, maybe I wouldn't have had 3 thousand songs either."

'I AM AWARE OF MY MISTAKES'

Serdar Ortaç also made confessions regarding his gambling and other habits, stating:

"I have quit drinking now, and I have also quit smoking. But what's done is done. I had to struggle with many things that fame brought with it."
