'CYBERNET' operation in 19 provinces: 115 suspects apprehended

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that 115 suspects were apprehended as a result of the "CYBERNET-9" operations conducted in 19 provinces against illegal betting, online child exploitation, payment systems, and cybercrimes.

Yerlikaya stated that 17 people have been arrested, judicial control measures have been imposed on 2 people, and proceedings are ongoing for 96 suspects.

The operations were carried out in 19 provinces under the coordination of the General Directorate of Security's Department of Combating Cybercrimes. A large amount of digital material was seized during raids conducted in Giresun, Sivas, Mardin, Osmaniye, Eskişehir, Gaziantep, İstanbul, Mersin, Kırşehir, Batman, İzmir, Samsun, Diyarbakır, Çorum, Konya, Adıyaman, Nevşehir, Kocaeli, and Trabzon.

As a result of the operations, a "cannot be sold/transferred" annotation was placed by the Mersin Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on 3 houses and 3 vehicles worth 36 million TL. Minister Yerlikaya stated, "Our virtual patrols are on duty 24/7 in the Cyber Homeland. Our fight against cybercrimes and criminals will continue with determination."
